A technology client recently said to us, “Where the heck is Grafton, Wisconsin? And why does such great marketing expertise live there (and not in Chicago, or San Francisco, or New York)?” The answer is quite simple. We recruit and hire smart people. And we are passionate about the development of our employees – through learning. So much so, that we have created a mini-university within the four walls of our business.

In fact, we are so serious about education, that we hired a tenured professor from a local university, with a PhD in adult learning, to help us build our employee training programs. We have built curriculum and structured coursework around a variety of important topics, solutions, and industries. We have amassed a substantial library of teaching materials and information resources. And we have developed our own tiered education and certification program that begins with orientation and stretches across our employees’ professional career at Frantz Group.

We know from experience that effective education means much more than accumulating a stockpile of video-tapes and books in our library; more than a Power Point presentation and a speaker; even more than computer based training software. Our training process begins with carefully considering who the student is, what their skills and aptitudes are, and what their previous experiences have been. It is also about learning what knowledge is required to successfully complete the task at hand.

Thought your test taking days were behind you? Not so for our employees. We recognize a very important truth about employee training – it doesn ’t just matter that our employees understand a particular concept, it matters that they are able to credibly articulate that concept, and apply it to their job. And so, virtually all of our training involves some type of testing. We want to make sure our employees can do it in practice ... so that ultimately they can do it in the game.
