To help with key initiatives, Church’s Chicken® realized they needed critical information on each of their stores, information they didn’t currently have or that was out of date. So they put together a set of questions based on inputs from key functions within the company – marketing, operations, information technology, etc. The result was a 140 question checklist that included everything from lot size, # of parking places, and building measurements to type of AC unit, size of coolers and details on technology in use. Frantz Group won the RFP to collect and create Church’s store database. Collecting this data meant visiting every store. In addition to the detailed questions, Frantz Group also took over 100 photos at each store. All of this information was then uploaded into a web accessible database that will serve as the foundation for future initiatives such as compliance and re-imaging. Tracy Lindsey, Senior Director Restaurant Construction and Support, initiated the project. “As we thought about programs we needed to do, we realized we were missing basic information to do the work efficiently and effectively. Each program would have spawned an effort to collect their set of data. We decided a more prudent approach was to collect what we needed one time to minimize impact on franchisees.
