FG Core Position Statement
Our Frantz Group AI practice is committed to helping our early adopter customers gain first user leverage of AI to efficiently grow sales resources, market coverage and revenue.
To become essentially, “The leader that others will later follow…” To learn the critical new “business capability” that everyone will need to learn sooner or later.
Our perspective is, AI is leveling the playing field in business sales. It’s not about who has the most resources anymore—it’s about who learns and leverages the smartest tools.
Businesses that embrace AI in sales today are creating systems that work 24/7, scale without limits, and drive decisions backed by data.
The opportunity is massive.
The question isn’t if AI will transform everyone’s industry—it’s whether you’ll lead the change in yours.
Stepping back and taking in the big AI picture, we all need to understand the industry is moving quickly toward Artificial General Intelligence.
Whether it arrives in two years or five years or less, it is coming.
So, it makes sense to get started with AI in sales as it exists today, to begin your learning journey that will build your fundamental business capability for when AGI arrives.
What’s AGI?
Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that matches or surpasses human cognitive capabilities across a wide range of cognitive tasks. This contrasts with narrow AI, which is limited to specific tasks.[1] Artificial superintelligence (ASI), on the other hand, refers to AGI that greatly exceeds human cognitive capabilities. AGI is considered one of the definitions of strong AI.
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has outlined a five-level framework to chart the progression toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). This framework delineates the evolution of AI capabilities from basic conversational agents to systems capable of performing the functions of entire organizations. The levels are as follows:
- Level 1: Chatbots
- Description: AI systems with natural conversational language abilities.
- Capabilities: Engage in human-like dialogue, understand context, and provide relevant response. (e.g., ChatGPT and other current AI chatbots)
- Level 2: Reasoners
- Description: AI systems with human-level problem-solving skills across a broad range of topics.
- Capabilities: Solve complex problems in areas such as mathematics, science, and coding without external tools
- Current Status: OpenAI is approaching this level with models like o1, designed to spend more time thinking before responding, thereby enhancing reasoning capabilities.
- Agents
- Description: AI systems that can take actions independently or based on human instructions.
- Capabilities: Operate autonomously over extended periods, performing tasks, making decisions, and adapting to new situations without human intervention.
- Potential Applications: Autonomous personal assistants, AI-driven project managers.
- Innovators
- Description: AI systems that can aid in the invention of new ideas and contribute to human knowledge.
- Capabilities: Generate original ideas, create innovative solutions, and drive technological and scientific breakthroughs.
- Potential Impact: Accelerate research and development across various fields.
- Level 5: Organizations (AGI)
- Description: AI systems capable of performing all the work of an organization independently.
- Capabilities: Manage complex workflows, make strategic decisions, and optimize operations without human oversight.
- Significance: Represents the achievement of AGI, where AI matches or surpasses human intelligence across diverse tasks.
Altman has expressed confidence in OpenAI’s roadmap toward AGI, suggesting that AI agents could become integral parts of the workforce as early as 2025.
Our perspective is Sales AI technology today is at level one, approaching level two. Ready to be put to work in starter use case situations. So, let’s begin to think about where we would put it to work.
To begin to leverage AI in business sales, a firm must first decide what use case and tools will most likely provide the most reliable and largest return.
Then, an initial AI sales operation can be run in parallel to your legacy process. During the initial experience, we would use A – B testing results to reliably show us the best of breed operation.
When the AB testing results are in, we can begin to plan for scaling it up.
This is what we are here to do, help you select your first use case, execute it, learn from it and scale it up.
Let’s get started!
